The PSR45A-220 is a power supply unit designed by Kollmorgen automation for servo systems. This product is a high-voltage device that operates with an alternating current input voltage supply of about 230 volts and can supply a direct current output voltage as high as 340 volts. The housing design of this power supply is done to match the IP20 industrial product protection classification; this unit is also covered with a black varnish with chemical resistance to mildly corrosive liquids like dilute acids, dilute alkali and mineral oil. The PSR45A-220 power supply unit has a front panel that features two main connection interfaces labelled as C1 and C2; there are also Light Emitting Diode (LED) indicators that communicate the status of the DC bus or regenerative energy during motor deceleration. This integrated LED also alerts operators of blown fuse or overloading.
The PSR45A-220 power supply unit is cooled by an internal air blower and should always be installed in a well-ventilated area. Although it can easily withstand large foreign solids, it should always be installed into a control cabinet for additional reliable protection. Each unit of this controller is CE certified and also a UL listed device. Before this power supply unit is used, a multiple-rated equipment input line fuse is required, and overload protection must also be provided. The PSR45A-220 features a three-phase input and can operate with an input current of about 20 amperes; the output interface of this unit can also provide a current of about 20 amperes.
