Product Description:
The PSR45A-212 power module is a regulated supply produced by Kollmorgen within the PSR Servo Power Supplies series. Designed for multi-axis automation, the unit converts low-voltage AC input power into a stable DC bus for Kollmorgen servo amplifiers and drives. Its controlled charging sequence limits the initial demand placed on the input circuit when power is applied. Integrated shunt regulation also supports rapid energy exchange between drives and motor loads in packaging, material-handling, and general motion systems.
The input section is rated for 115 VAC, so the supply can be connected directly to a standard single-phase utility line. Once energized, the capacitors reach their full operating potential in 25 ms, minimizing restart delays after an emergency stop. During steady operation, the three-phase configuration supports a continuous current of 12.0 A RMS, while single-phase applications are limited to 10.0 A RMS. The supply maintains bus regulation at 325 V by providing a nominal 1.1 A RMS on the internal link, resulting in an output of 325 VDC. Thermal losses inside the enclosure are limited to 120 W, which helps with cabinet airflow planning. An internal 25 Ω shunt resistor with a continuous dissipation rating of 40 W absorbs excess kinetic energy during motor deceleration.
For short dynamic events, the power stage can deliver 50.0 A for 50 ms or 24.0 A for up to 2 s, providing sufficient current for simultaneous axis acceleration. A soft-start circuit moderates startup inrush by limiting the initial surge to 150 A, reducing stress on upstream protection devices. Excess bus energy is routed through a shunt regulator that can continuously sink 15 A. The housing measures 280 mm deep and 340 mm high, providing the enclosure dimensions needed for panel layout. Its width of 76 mm supports dense side-by-side placement on suitable mounting brackets. An internal heat path transfers generated heat toward the enclosure surfaces so cabinet ventilation can remove it effectively.
