The PSR4/5A-220 is a Kollmorgen power module in the PSR Servo Power Supplies series. Acting as a regenerative power supply for BDS and ACS motion systems, it converts the plant’s 230 VAC mains power into a stable DC bus that feeds multiple servo drives and returns excess energy during deceleration. Maintaining a consistent bus voltage supports precise torque control in automated machines. The regenerative function also helps manage energy returned by motors when connected axes slow down.
The internal capacitor bank has a capacitance of 0.00297 F, giving the bus enough stored energy to ride through short-term dips while limiting ripple. The nominal bus voltage is 325 VDC, while the hysteresis threshold is 380 VDC and the absolute ceiling is 390 VDC before shutdown. The bus can reach its maximum charge within 25 ms, so the supply becomes available shortly after power-up. During single-phase operation, the module can deliver a continuous current of 16.0 A. The line side is rated for 20 A per phase to match the appropriate branch protection.
