Product Description:
The PSR/5A-112-0400 servo power supply is produced by Kollmorgen under the PSR Servo Power Supplies series. Designed as the front-end energy source for Kollmorgen servo amplifiers, the module converts plant mains power into a stabilized DC bus that drives multiple motion axes. Within an automation cell, the supply distributes control-grade logic voltages and manages inrush so that drives start without disrupting upstream protection devices. It occupies just 76 mm of panel width, allowing dense mounting in electrical cabinets while still delivering the current reserves required for dynamic positioning lines such as pick-and-place gantries, packaging machines, or indexing tables. Its steel chassis also provides a common protective earth point, simplifying compliance with machine safety standards.
The electrical input is rated for a 115 VAC single-phase or three-phase mains supply. When wired for single-phase power, the supply draws a continuous current of 10.0 A; when wired for three-phase power, the draw rises modestly to 12.0 A, distributing the load across the line conductors. For short acceleration periods, the module can tolerate a peak current of 24.0 A for two seconds and brief surges of up to 50.0 A for 50 milliseconds. This capacity allows downstream amplifiers to demand high power without triggering the mains breakers. These current limits determine the fuse size, cable cross-section, and thermal management needed in the enclosure.
A soft-start circuit limits inrush current to 80 A, allowing the supply to charge its internal capacitors without dimming sensitive control electronics. Full energy storage is reached within 25 ms, after which the internal converter provides a regulated bus of 160 VDC that can supply 1.1 A RMS to the connected servo drives. Auxiliary rails provide logic power at +10 V and ±18 V per axis. Dry fault contacts rated for 1 A at 120 VAC or 2 A at 28 VDC report overtemperature or overvoltage conditions to a safety PLC. The enclosure measures 340 mm high and 280 mm deep, supporting vertical mounting behind standard cabinet doors.
