Product Description:
The AKC-PLC-C1-224-00N-00-000 is a motion controller produced by Kollmorgen for the MX2000 Motion Controllers series. It executes trajectory generation, machine sequencing, and deterministic I/O handling for multi-axis systems on the plant floor. Supplied as a compact, standalone computing node, it interfaces with drives and distributed sensors to coordinate speed, position, and synchronization tasks in industrial automation.
Computation is delivered by an Intel Celeron 1.2 GHz processor, giving the controller adequate cycle times for kinematic calculations and PLC logic. A memory bank of 2 GB of DRAM stores the active program and buffers variables and motion tables without accessing the disk during real-time execution. Nonvolatile tasks and the embedded system image reside on a 4 GB CompactFlash device, which has no moving parts and is therefore less susceptible to vibration. Application code runs on Windows XPe, providing a familiar software environment for configuration tools while maintaining a compact footprint for embedded use. Power is supplied at 24 V DC, so the unit can share the same low-voltage rail that feeds sensors and fieldbus couplers inside a cabinet. A fan-cooled design draws air across internal heat sinks to maintain component temperatures under continuous load.
The front panel provides one 10/100 Ethernet interface and one 10/100/1000 Ethernet interface, allowing time-critical motion traffic to be separated from higher-level supervisory data. The controller has two internal PCI slots that accept fieldbus or specialty I/O cards when additional machine functions are required. External peripherals, such as HMIs or data loggers, connect through four USB 2.0 ports without requiring additional hubs. The housing withstands shocks of 15 G for 11 ms during operation and up to 30 G during storage, making it suitable for machinery that experiences rapid deceleration. Its dimensions are 270 × 195 × 233 mm, permitting wall or desktop mounting where sufficient ventilation and cable clearance are available. The controller also includes 128 KB of NVRAM, which retains critical variables during power interruptions without relying on batteries.
