The MMC-SD-12.0-460 is a Kollmorgen drive from the MMC Standalone Smart Drives series. It combines power conversion, motion control, and feedback processing for 460 VAC servo or induction motors, allowing automation systems to command speed and position from one cabinet module rather than using separate amplifiers. The design suits packaging machines, pick-and-place axes, and general-purpose conveyors that require tight velocity regulation and integrated safety.
Its power stage delivers 12.0 kW of continuous output while maintaining a continuous current of 27.5 A, establishing the long-term torque available to the motor without derating. For brief accelerations, the drive supplies up to 55.0 A of peak current. On the mains side, it draws 16.7 A RMS, corresponding to an input demand of 13.3 kVA. The digital current loop refreshes every 125 µs, and the velocity loop updates every 250 µs, giving the controller a submillisecond response to load changes.
