The MMC-SD-1.0-230 is a compact AC servo drive produced by Kollmorgen within the MMC Standalone Smart Drives series. Designed as an all-in-one controller and power stage, the unit regulates torque, velocity, and position for brushless motors in automated machinery. By combining power electronics, motion control, and onboard I/O, the drive eliminates the need for external amplifiers and reduces panel space in packaging lines, pick-and-place stations, and other industrial motion systems.
The drive delivers a rated mechanical output of 1 kW and has a nominal electrical input of 2.0 kVA from a 230 VAC three-phase supply. Under a steady load, it supplies 5 A of continuous current to the motor and can reach 15 A during short acceleration periods. The input stage tolerates a startup surge of 70 A, so downstream components must accommodate this transient. Normal operation draws 9 A RMS and produces 37 W of internal power loss, helping keep cabinet temperatures moderate. Field wiring requires conductors measuring at least 1.5 mm² (16 AWG), and the power lugs must be tightened to 1.17 N·m to ensure low-resistance connections.
