Product Description:

The M.3000.0917 is a standalone smart drive produced by Kollmorgen within the MMC Standalone Smart Drives series. As a self-contained motion controller, it combines power conversion, feedback processing, and programmable logic to operate servo or stepper axes without an external rack controller. In industrial automation cells, it accepts mains power, modulates motor current, and handles machine-level I/O, helping reduce cabinet space and wiring requirements.

This model delivers 2 kW of continuous output while drawing power from a three-phase supply, giving it sufficient capacity for midsize rotary or linear motors. The control electronics operate at a nominal 24 VDC, separating logic power from the main bus. Each of the four sourcing outputs can supply up to 50 mA per output, which is adequate for pilot relays or optically isolated indicators. Field signals are routed through a 26-pin high-density D-Sub connector that carries inputs, outputs, and common lines to the internal control board. The digital interface topology helps command and diagnostic data resist analog drift and electrical noise picked up along machine harnesses.

The power stage receives AC power through a dedicated 9-pin connector, while DC-link energy and regeneration are routed through a separate 6-pin terminal to keep high-current paths short. Discrete sensing is supported by 8 optically isolated 24 VDC inputs, allowing motion events such as clamp confirmation and limit signals to be detected without creating ground loops. Actuation tasks are handled by 4 optically isolated 24 VDC outputs. The remaining connections include a 4-pin bus and regeneration plug, a 15-pin F1 feedback port, and a 6-pin miniature circular DIN PicPro service port. A green power LED and a yellow status LED provide immediate visual confirmation of the operating state, helping users distinguish the presence of power from general drive status during system operation.
