Internal Product Review
The M.3000.0912 is a well-executed Kollmorgen MMC Standalone Smart Drive with 1 kW rated power and 3.5 A RMS continuous output current. Peak output current of 15 A and a bus overvoltage threshold of 420 VDC support stable performance during dynamic motion demands. Low 37 W power loss makes the drive an efficient choice for smart drive applications.

Product Description:
The M.3000.0912 is a standalone smart servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen for the MMC Standalone Smart Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into a regulated DC link and pulse-width-modulated phases that energize synchronous or induction motors used in automated machinery. By combining power electronics, motion control, and a brake relay in one enclosure, the drive enables decentralized positioning, speed control, and controlled stops on individual machine axes.
The drive requires an input of 1.0 kVA, indicating the apparent power that must be available from the facility supply. A bulk-storage network with a capacitance of 1410 µF smooths the intermediate bus, while protective logic trips the drive if the voltage rises above 420 VDC. Under continuous duty, the output stage delivers 3.5 A RMS, and it can rise momentarily to 15 A peak for acceleration or disturbance rejection. The brake control hardware can handle 831 VA, allowing rapid mechanical stopping of connected servomotors. The inverter supports a rated shaft power of 1 kW, so panel ventilation must remove the associated heat. Startup current is managed through a 70 A peak inrush limiter on the mains path and a 1.5 A, 10 ms surge on the logic circuit. Steady-state logic demand remains at 375 mA and consumes 9 W.
The chassis has a depth of 6.12 in (155.56 mm), a height of 9.69 in, and a frontal width of 4.69 in (119.05 mm). These dimensions permit side-by-side mounting inside standard 200 mm cabinets when the required airflow spacing is maintained. Continuous thermal dissipation of 37 W is handled by the aluminum heat sink, which transfers operating heat away from internal components. The overall assembly weighs 5.6 lb (2.55 kg), making the unit manageable during installation or removal. All terminals are located on the front edge, allowing access to the brake relay wiring and logic supply without removing the unit from its DIN rail.
