Product Description:

The M.3000.0464 is a standalone servo drive engineered by Kollmorgen as part of the MMC Standalone Smart Drives series. By combining power electronics, motion-control logic, and a feedback interface in one housing, the unit commands brushless servomotors directly from a cabinet wall or machine frame. Its role in industrial automation is to regulate speed, torque, and position without an external amplifier, simplifying wiring and reducing control-panel space for conveyors, pick-and-place axes, and small processing stations.

During operation, the drive draws a nominal input current of 2.44 A RMS from a three-phase mains supply while consuming 1.94 kVA of apparent power. A brief energization surge reaches 4.56 A RMS, and the 24 VDC control rail experiences an inrush of 4 A for 10 ms before settling to 700 mA at 17 W. Internal energy storage is provided by a bus capacitor rated at 110 µF, which smooths line fluctuations and supports stable DC-bus operation. The brake driver can deliver 0.5 A to a holding brake. On the motor side, the inverter supplies a continuous phase current of 3.0 A and can deliver 6.0 A during acceleration or disturbance rejection. Closed-loop position data is exchanged through a BiSS serial feedback port, allowing fully digital communication with compatible Kollmorgen motion controllers.

The rated output is 0.65 kW when the mains supply is 230 VAC and rises to 1.3 kW at 460 VAC, allowing operation with low-voltage machines and high-voltage production equipment. Thermal losses remain limited to 34 W, so cabinet ventilation requirements remain modest during normal operation. A shunt transistor engages at 780 VDC to clamp regenerated energy and protect the bus during rapid deceleration. The aluminum housing weighs 10 lb, which limits the load placed on the mounting surface. Its compact, integrated arrangement also reduces the number of separate motion-control components required inside the enclosure.
