Product Description:
The M.3000.0109 is a standalone smart drive produced by Kollmorgen for the MMC Standalone Smart Drives series. It functions as a compact three-phase inverter that converts fixed-frequency mains power into regulated output for servo or induction motors used in conveyors, gantries, and other automated stations. Because the control system, power electronics, and network interfaces are housed in one enclosure, the unit can be mounted close to the load, reducing cabinet space and cable runs in distributed automation systems.
At an ambient temperature of 40 °C, the drive supplies a continuous output of 100 A, while short bursts can reach a peak current factor of 1.5 × IN. The input bridge accepts 3 × 480 VAC utility power at 50/60 Hz, so an external transformer is not needed when a compatible supply is available. Thermal protection uses a current derating slope of 1.4% per °C above 40 °C. Operation requires all three supply phases, and peak-current duty is limited to less than one minute per hour for intermittent motion profiles. Motor and line terminals accommodate conductors up to 50 mm², helping minimize resistive losses during rated service. The drive can therefore support high-current applications while remaining within its stated thermal limits.
The housing carries an IP20 rating, so the drive must be installed inside a guarded panel that prevents contact with hazardous internal parts. Internal power dissipation is rated at 24 W, which helps simplify enclosure cooling, and the assembly weighs 4.0 kg, allowing installation without heavy structural supports. The phase-to-ground dielectric withstand level is 2.7 kVDC for two seconds. A separate phase-to-phase dielectric withstand level of 2.1 kVDC supports insulation clearance between energized conductors. The drive is intended for sites below 2,000 m in elevation. At higher elevations, reduced air density affects cooling and electrical insulation margins, so voltage and output current may require adjustment for safe operation.
