Product Description:
The M.1302.8134 drive is a standalone servo amplifier manufactured by Kollmorgen within the MMC Standalone Smart Drives series. Intended for cabinet or machine-mounted use, the unit modulates incoming three-phase power and delivers controlled current to matched motors so that axes in packaging lines, pick-and-place heads, or material transport stages follow commanded motion profiles. It combines the power section, control logic, and fieldbus interface in one enclosure, eliminating the need for a separate motion controller in many single-axis installations.
The power stage is rated for a continuous output of 2.4 kW at 460 VAC, corresponding to a steady shaft current of 3.9 A RMS. When rapid acceleration is required, the drive can deliver a momentary peak of 11.0 A, while the internal silicon is limited to a continuous current of 5.5 A to prevent thermal overload. The input side draws 4.18 A RMS under nominal load, resulting in a demand of 3.33 kVA from the feeder. Line energization produces a maximum inrush current of 7.81 A RMS, which is absorbed by integral charging resistors. During sustained operation, the electronics dissipate 60 W as heat, so forced-air ventilation must be provided to keep the heat sink temperature within its permitted operating range.
The logic section is powered from a machine control rail that supplies 700 mA at 24 VDC. This auxiliary circuit consumes 17 W during normal operation and has a startup surge of 4 A for 10 ms. The housing measures 4.14 inches wide, 8.35 inches deep, and 13.66 inches tall, allowing high-density stacking on a backplate. Despite the integrated controller, the assembly weighs only 10 lb, which reduces the mounting load on vertically hinged cabinet doors. The compact footprint and side-entry connectors simplify installation where existing panel space is limited while leaving room for the required ventilation clearance.
