Product Description:
The M.1302.5245 is a Kollmorgen drive from the MMC Standalone Smart Drives series. It combines a power stage, an AC line filter, and onboard control electronics in a single device for installation in a control panel. The drive regulates motor speed, torque, and position without requiring a separate motion controller. It connects directly to the facility’s AC supply and produces the pulse-width-modulated output needed for precise axis control. Suitable applications include conveyors, feed systems, and light material-handling equipment where compact installation and integrated motion control are required.
At a cabinet temperature of 40 °C, the drive can deliver a continuous output current of 30 A. Above that temperature, the continuous current is reduced at a rate of 1.4% per °C to control thermal loading. The input section accepts up to 3 × 480 VAC from a three-phase supply operating at a line frequency of 50/60 Hz. Its IP20 housing helps prevent incidental finger contact with live components when the unit is installed inside a suitable enclosure. Screw terminals accommodate conductors up to 10 mm², supporting secure power connections without oversized terminal adapters. The insulation withstand levels are 2.7 kVDC from phase to ground and 2.1 kVDC from phase to phase under test conditions of 25 °C for two seconds. These voltage levels indicate the electrical isolation provided between the input phases and grounded surfaces.
The drive is suitable for installation at altitudes up to 2000 m, where reduced air density can limit heat transfer from internal components. During typical operation, it dissipates 12 W, which contributes to the total heat load that must be managed within the control enclosure. The unit has a mass of 1.3 kg, allowing it to be secured to a DIN rail or backplate without placing a substantial load on the mounting surface. Its compact arrangement reduces the panel space required for the power stage, line filtering, and motion control functions. Adequate enclosure airflow and installation clearances should be maintained so the drive can release heat during continuous operation.
