Product Description:
The 3NF-30 is a mains electromagnetic-interference filter produced by Kollmorgen for the Mains EMI Filters series. Installed between the facility supply and servo drives or inverters, the unit attenuates conducted noise that could disturb sensitive control electronics or violate emission limits. By presenting high impedance to common-mode and differential-mode disturbances while passing 50/60 Hz power, it helps industrial automation panels meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements without altering the downstream equipment.
The filter is built for three-phase networks and accepts a line potential up to 480 VAC, so it can be wired directly to standard plant mains. A continuous load of 30 A can flow through the device when the ambient temperature is held at the 50 °C reference used for its current rating. Within its passband, the design accommodates a fundamental frequency of 50/60 Hz; resonant components are selected so insertion loss peaks outside this frequency range. Earth-referenced leakage is limited to 33 mA, a value that must be included in residual-current device calculations to avoid nuisance trips during normal operation.
The enclosure carries an IP20 ingress protection rating, so it prevents accidental finger contact but must be installed in a cabinet protected from water and excessive dust. The screw clamps permit a tightening torque of up to 2.2 Nm, ensuring secure terminations without damaging the 10 mm² line lugs. At 1.2 kg, the unit adds minimal mass to DIN rails or backplates, simplifying installation near drives that benefit from short cable runs. Its climatic category of 25/100/21 indicates qualification through -25 °C cold testing, 100 °C dry-heat testing, and a 21-day damp-heat cycle. These test conditions account for the temperature and humidity variations that can occur inside protected electrical enclosures.
