Product Description:

The 3EF-50 is a single-stage mains electromagnetic-interference filter produced by Kollmorgen for the Mains EMI Filters series. Installed between the plant’s three-phase supply and a servo drive or inverter, it attenuates conducted noise so that adjacent automation equipment meets CE and FCC emission limits. By lowering common-mode and differential-mode disturbances, the filter protects sensors, fieldbus links, and radio-frequency safety devices from spurious coupling that could disrupt process control.

The filter carries a continuous load rating of 50 A, allowing it to be placed upstream of medium-power motion axes without thermal derating. Its line-to-line insulation is qualified for 400 V industrial mains, matching the typical bus voltage of AC drives and regenerative power supplies. Power conductors land on cage terminals that accept a 10 mm² cross-section, so cable heating and insertion forces remain within standard wiring practices. Protective-earth continuity is established through a threaded stud with an M6 shaft, providing a low-impedance ground path for leakage currents. Cabinet installation uses flanged feet with slots measuring 6.5 mm across, providing clearance for mounting hardware and easing alignment when the filter is positioned beneath a busbar or duct.

A hole spacing of 115 mm separates the mounting points and supports installation on backplates with the same mounting pitch. The housing spans 250 mm in width, stands 150 mm high, and projects only 65 mm into the enclosure, so it fits behind swing doors without obstructing airflow or service clearances. At 3.1 kg, the unit can be supported by standard DIN backplates without additional bracing, and its compact form keeps control-cabinet heat density low while maintaining the mechanical rigidity needed for vibration-prone machine frames.
