Product Description:

The 3EF-130 is a mains EMI filter produced by Kollmorgen within the Mains EMI Filters series. It is installed between the facility power supply and Kollmorgen S640 or S670 drives to attenuate conducted interference, keeping high-frequency noise from returning to the grid and protecting adjacent automation equipment. By providing differential-mode and common-mode suppression on the three-phase supply, the unit supports compliance with electromagnetic compatibility limits commonly applied to industrial motion systems. Its placement on the incoming power side allows it to suppress electrical noise before that noise can propagate through shared supply circuits.

This filter is designed for three-phase power networks and carries a continuous current rating of 130 A, so it can be placed upstream of multiple high-power servo axes without derating. Its insulation system withstands up to 480 / 480 VAC, matching the nominal voltage of typical North American and European 50/60 Hz plant power systems. Thermal performance is based on an ambient temperature of 40 °C; at or below that temperature, the current rating remains valid without external cooling. Line and load terminals accept conductors up to 50 mm², allowing use of the cable size normally connected to the drives and minimizing additional junctions. The unit provides mains interference suppression to reduce conducted emissions rather than harmonic distortion or poor power factor.

The enclosure has a depth of 220 mm, a height of 440 mm, and a width of 90 mm. These dimensions allow the housing to mount beside standard drive stacks in control cabinets without exceeding typical rack depths. A protective grounding bolt with a diameter of 10 mm provides a low-impedance path that directs internally shunted noise to the cabinet grounding bar. This grounding connection also helps maintain electrical safety if an insulation fault energizes the filter chassis. High-current conductors can be routed through the terminal block while the narrow enclosure remains securely mounted within the cabinet.
