The 1NF-12 is a single-phase mains electromagnetic interference filter produced by Kollmorgen for its Mains EMI Filters series. The component sits between the incoming supply and servo drives or PLC power supplies, suppressing differential-mode and common-mode noise that would otherwise propagate through 230 V control panels. By attenuating radio-frequency disturbances, the filter helps automated systems comply with emission limits and prevents external transients from reaching sensitive logic. Fast-on blade connections simplify cabinet wiring, and the compact package permits placement close to contactors or miniature circuit breakers inside IP20 enclosures.
The filter carries a rated load current of 12 A at an ambient temperature of 40 °C, allowing it to feed medium-power single-phase inverters and embedded controllers. It withstands a maximum operating voltage of 250 VAC and accepts the standard utility frequency range of 50/60 Hz, so no derating is required on either European or North American mains. Noise attenuation is provided by a wound-core inductor with an inductance of 3.25 mH in series with the line and a polypropylene Cx capacitor with a capacitance of 1 µF across the live and neutral conductors. Combined with two Cy capacitors connected to protective earth, this LC network creates high impedance for differential-mode disturbances while providing a low-impedance return path for common-mode currents. This arrangement reduces conducted radio-frequency emissions across the filter’s operating range.
Leakage current is limited to 0.73 mA, making the filter suitable for equipment subject to applicable touch-current limits. Internal resistor discharge paths dissipate stored energy and contribute to the measured power loss of 13.1 W under full load, which should be considered when planning cabinet ventilation. The filtered assembly is housed in an IP20 case that protects against finger contact with live parts but requires an additional enclosure in dusty or wet locations. With a mass of 0.73 kg, the unit adds a moderate load to its mounting surface. Its 6.3 × 0.8 mm fast-on blades provide compact electrical connections for cabinet wiring.
