The M4410-10020A is a digital DC drive module in the M4000 series from Kollmorgen. It is programmable and features microprocessor-based variable speed control. This unit boasts immense versatility and finds application in various fields and use cases, including food processing machinery, packaging machines, robotics, spindles, test stands, dynamometers, laminating & coating machines. The M4410-10020A is designed to improve productivity and enhance performance. It features a regenerative power supply of 500 Volts DC, and its rated power is 10 HP.
In general, the motion control capabilities of the M4000 series include M-G set replacement, electronic line shaft, tension control, pumping, common armature, extruding, indexing, damper control, valve actuation, etc. This unit comes with 9 LED status indicators – rightly labeled and visible to operators from the module's front. These LEDs indicate nine different drive conditions: drive overload, zero speed, attained current limit, etc. Other features of the M4000 series by Kollmorgen include autotuning of current control loop security and multi-level programmable security key.
Before the start-up and commissioning of the M4410-10020A the handling personnel must carefully inspect the installation for correctness, calibration, and drive tuning. When in operation, it must be monitored to ensure satisfactory operation. The M4410-10020A features a max. load capacity of 150 % / 60 seconds, and it has a motor-dependent speed range of 50 : 1. With 100 % rated specifications, the permissible operating altitude of this unit is 3300 feet. Additionally, the operating frequency of this drive module is within 50 – 60 Hertz. It supports the remote mounting of an operator control unit and has an adjustable current limit of 10 – 150 % of the recommended full load.
