The M4407-10020A is a three-phase DC drive module in the M4000 series by Kollmorgen. Its versatility makes it ideal for several drive applications, including packaging/converting machinery, material handling, food processing, metal forming, plastics, textiles equipment, spindles, etc. This unit is equipped with a RS 485 with optical isolation to improve networking and interconnection with several other control devices. The digital and analog inputs on the M4407-10020A can now be configured by the user, making this unit a trustworthy, flexible, and versatile drive system.
The rotary motion control capabilities of the M4407-10020A include coating, plating, winding/unwinding, slitting, printing, and laminating. Also, its linear motion control capabilities include valve actuation, conveyor gate diverter, damper control, chute control, wheel dressing, indexing, etc. The power supply of this unit is the regenerative type with a voltage rating of 500 Volts DC. In addition, it has a power rating of 7 HP. The M4407-10020A features a 9-LED status indicator on its front panel. The LEDs indicate different drive conditions such as current limit, drive overload, zero speed, etc. Some other significant features of this model include easily assimilated function menus, current control loop autotuning, multi-level programmable security control, and a more comprehensive display.
The M4407-10020A can be operated remotely or manually via serial communications or operator controls, depending on operational requirements. Its permissible humidity rating is between 5 – 95 %. At nominal conditions/specifications, the operating altitude of this drive module is 1000 m above sea level. Also, the recommended environmental air temperature range for this unit is between 0 – 55o C when mounted in a chassis and 0 – 40o C when mounted in a standard and compatible enclosure.
