The M4225-00020A is a high-performance drive module in the M4000 product series by Kollmorgen.  This unit offers massive system potentials, better control, extra functions, a more comprehensive range, and more flexible communication. It features a 0.025 % resolution for analog speed demand, 0.1 % speed holding for 100 % load change with tach feedback, electronic motor-overload protection, instantaneous over-current protection, and a compact modular design.  In addition, the M4225-00020A offers adjustable IR compensation, digital parameter control, selectable current limit, AC input line fusing, etc. It can be mounted in a chassis or an enclosure, depending on the application.

The M4225-00020A is simple to use, easy to install, and requires minimal connections and wiring space. Generally, M4000 units have an acceleration time of 0 – 200 seconds, a deceleration time of 0 – 200 seconds, and a jog. speed of 0 – 100 % of the base speed. In addition, the maximum torque motoring of the M4000 series is between 0 – 150 %, with a maximum torque regenerating of 0 – 150 %. The speed range of the M4225-00020A is 50 : 1, and it is motor-dependent. Likewise, its speed regulation is 95 % load change.

The M4225-00020A can be operated manually through operator controls but remotely via serial communications. It has a permissible humidity rating of  5 – 95 % (non-condensing). At nominal operating conditions, the recommended mounting height of this unit is 1000 meters above sea level. Also, its acceptable environmental temperature is between 0 – 55 degrees C in a chassis unit and 0 – 40 degrees C in an enclosed unit. The M4225-00020A features a non-regenerative voltage supply of 500 Volts DC, and its power rating is 25 HP.
