The M4210-S821 is an M4000 series digital dc drive from Kollmorgen. Its power rating is 10 HP, and it runs at a universal frequency range of 50 – 60 Hz. This unit has a main circuit board developed to incorporate several additional features, such as serial communications & a field-weakening controller for constant power applications with extended speed ranges. The M4210-S821 is compatible with a wide range of DC motors. It has an isolated control signal of ±10 Volts or 4 – 20 mA and features an AC input line fusing.
This model of the M4000 drive module supports the remote mounting of an operator control unit. In addition, it also has an adjustable current limit of 10 to 150 % of its permissible full load. When operated at nominal data, the permissible mounting height of this unit is 1000 meters above sea level. This drive comes designed with a more comprehensive and easily understandable display and controls. To further ease its operations, the M4210-S821 is equipped with parameter-based keypad control that eliminates manual adjustments. It also comes with status indicator LEDs.
Generally, the M4000 series contain digital and microprocessor circuitry that is susceptible to Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI). These units are also equipped with switching amplifiers that can generate significant EMI at frequencies from 10 kHz – 300 MHz. The M4000 must be stored in a clean, non-corrosive and dry location shielded from sudden temperature changes, vibration, high levels of moisture, and shock. Also, its ambient temperature should not exceed 60 degrees C, and room temperature is recommended. The min. temperature must remain above 0 degrees C and above the ambient air’s dew point.
