The Kollmorgen M-103-A-23 is a servo motor in the Goldline series. This family of motors employ high energy rare earth neodymium-iron-boron magnet to provide superior performance and maximum value in a compact package. For the motor to accommodate a wide range of industrial environment, it has a well thought-out thermal design which enables it to provide an exceptional performance even in places with slightly higher ambient temperatures. The M-103-A-23 supports the Kollmorgen ServoStar digital amplifier, making installation times quick. With the amplifier, the motor can operate without a position feedback device since the amplifier has an in-built encoder. Additionally, the amplifier can be used to control the motor’s torque or velocity through serial or analog command.

The M-103-A-23 belongs to the Kollmorgen M series. Motors in this series have small frame and conform to the Class H insulation, and attain a standard maximum speed of 7500 revolutions per minute (RPM). Note that Kollmorgen Goldline servo motors (M series) are lightweight and they have an integral frameless resolver as a standard. This family of motors also come with industrial grade connectors to enhance firm connections. The motor supports options such as front mounted gearheads, NEMA mountings, fail-safe brake, among others.

The M-103-A-23 features a resolver feedback, has a continuous and peak torque of 0.84 N-m and 1.91 N-m respectively. Its continuous power is rated at 0.54 kilo Watts or 0.73 horsepower. The motor uses rare earth magnets to increase the torque-to-inertia ratios for fast acceleration and deceleration. It also has a high torque in most of its speed range, and it capable of providing a smooth performance even at slow speeds due to its anti-cog magnet design.
