Product Description:

The KSM 100-4-CN is a safety controller manufactured by Kollmorgen. It has an integrated CANopen interface and can mounted on the door of the enclosure with an interlock. The KSM 100-4-CN belongs to the KSM-modular family of safety controllers. This family of controllers has 2 pulse outputs, a maximum of 10 standard outputs, up to 12 axes, 8 expansion slots, and features one safe relay that is expandable. The KSM 100-4-CN, as with other Kollmorgen KSM-modular safety controllers, is designed to be interfaced with demanding applications with a large number of I/Os and complex safety logic.

The KSM 100-4-CN has a maximum period of application of 20 years, belongs to Class 3 climate class, has an international protection rating of IP 52, and is designed with protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI). Some measures required to reduce the effects of electromagnetic interference include, but not limited to, routing signal cables away from power cables and not running cables beyond the recommended lengths. The type of connectors used by the controller are pluggable terminals that have a maximum terminal cross section of 1.5 millimeters (squared).

The KSM 100-4-CN, as with other Kollmorgen safety controllers, can be used with applications aiming to achieve ISO 13894 machine safety requirements up to PL-e, IEC 62061 up to SIL 3, and those applications that must achieve an emergency stop according to United States guidelines as specified in the NFPA 79-2012 (NEC) guidelines. Some advantages of using Kollmorgen safety modules and controllers include achieving higher productivity, lowering system costs, flexibility, and easy and fast implementation. The controller has a supply voltage rating of 24 Volts DC and its current rating stands at 2 Amperes.
