Product Description:

The SR6-6SMx7-G is a servo power-and-brake cable produced by Kollmorgen for the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It connects a drive to a synchronous motor and its holding brake, carrying three-phase power, protective earth, and two brake conductors in one assembly. In automated gantries and pick-and-place modules, the cable supplies continuous motor power while carrying the control voltage needed to release or engage the brake. Combining these conductors in one cable supports compact routing in industrial axes that operate through frequent motion cycles.

The cable has a continuous operating limit of 1000 V, making it suitable for the output voltage levels used by servo inverters. It can withstand acceleration of up to 40 m/s² during rapid axis reversals without excessive conductor fatigue. For moving cable-chain applications, the installation must maintain a minimum bend radius of 10 × outer diameter D. At this bend radius, the cable can endure 10 million flex cycles during normal dynamic operation. The polyolefin core insulation maintains dielectric resistance above 20 MΩ·km after repeated bending. The U2, V2, and W2 motor phases share a tinned-copper braid with the protective-earth drain to limit common-mode emissions, while the dedicated positive and negative brake conductors provide an isolated path to the brake coil.

In straight cable trays, the assembly can travel at speeds up to 240 m/min without excessive jacket abrasion. Its outer sheath is made from polyurethane (Q), which resists oils and coolants commonly present around industrial machinery. The sheath is orange RAL 2003, making the cable easy to distinguish from nearby power and signal wiring. The braid provides a minimum optical coverage of 85%, creating an effective shield against electrical noise generated by drive switching. For stationary routing or coiled storage, the cable permits a minimum bend radius of 6 × outer diameter D without kinking. The integrated brake conductors allow the same assembly to power the motor and operate its holding brake, reducing the number of separate cables required along the axis.
