The Kollmorgen RES-AKM-006M-MCS-DCA-28-NA is a servo cable from the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series with a length of 6 meters and is designed as a static cable. It features a D-Sub 15-pin HD male drive plug at a 45-degree angle and supports resolver feedback with COS, SIN, and REF channels. The cable interfaces with AKM and DDR motors and uses 4 twisted pairs for signal transmission.
Internal Product Review
The RES-AKM-006M-MCS-DCA-28-NA is a Kollmorgen servo cable built for AKM/DDR motor interfaces and resolver feedback applications. A 45° drive plug and D-Sub 15-pin HD male connection make integration clean and technically well suited for drive-side routing. Four twisted pairs with COS/SIN/REF resolver channels give this cable excellent signal integrity for precise motion feedback.

Product Description:
The RES-AKM-006M-MCS-DCA-28-NA feedback lead is supplied by Kollmorgen for the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It links an AKD servo drive to a compatible resolver-equipped servo motor, allowing feedback signals and auxiliary power to travel reliably between the devices. Within an automation cell, the cable forms the sensor side of the motion loop by carrying position data back to the drive while providing 9 VDC and 5 VDC reference lines for the resolver electronics. Its ability to preserve signal integrity allows the drive to maintain high-speed position and velocity control without additional interface modules.
The cable has a total length of 6 m, setting the available distance between the control cabinet and motor without exceeding the recommended resolver impedance. The jacket supports static routing, making the cable suitable for fixed installation inside a machine frame rather than continuous movement in an energy chain. A 15-pin HD male D-Sub connector is fitted to the drive end. Its shell has a 45° exit angle, allowing the plug to clear neighboring hardware on compact AKD drive racks. The signal conductors are arranged as four twisted pairs, which reduce crosstalk and improve noise rejection over the entire cable length. The motor end uses a straight circular plug that aligns with the feedback receptacle without requiring a separate strain-relief adapter.
The cable supports resolver feedback, so it carries analog sine and cosine references rather than digital encoder pulses. Dedicated conductors carry the six resolver channel lines, consisting of COS+, COS-, SIN+, SIN-, REF+, and REF-, while paired shielding helps preserve signal amplitude accuracy in electrically noisy machinery. At the drive end, the connector mates with the feedback receptacle marked F1/F2, providing direct compatibility without a breakout board. The opposite connector follows the Kollmorgen feedback pinout for AKM and DDR motors, providing a single cable path for position feedback and reference voltages. Motor power remains on separate conductors, which prevents the feedback connection from interfering with the primary power wiring.
