Product Description:
The PWR-AKM-030M-MCS-000-14-6H cable is produced by Kollmorgen within the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. Classified for power transmission, it links a Kollmorgen drive chassis to an AKM servo motor while simultaneously routing brake power so that automated axes can control the holding brake during shutdown. By integrating motor-phase conductors with dedicated brake conductors in one assembly, the cable simplifies wiring runs in industrial automation cells where motion stages operate inside cable chains and dynamic carriers.
This model is supplied in a cut length of 30 m, providing sufficient reach between the cabinet and moving mechanism without additional junctions. The copper cores have a cross-sectional size of 14 AWG, which supports the continuous current drawn by smaller AKM motor frames while keeping the cable flexible. Its jacket and insulation are rated for flexing duty, allowing the cable to withstand repeated bending inside dress packs without premature conductor fatigue. The electrical paths are identified as U, V, W, PE, BR+, and BR-. The first three conductors deliver three-phase motor power, PE provides the protective ground connection, and the final two conductors supply the motor’s holding brake coil. To prevent damage from tight routing, the cable should not be bent below a radius of 12 times its outer diameter, which helps protect the internal insulation layers during movement.
The cable has integrated brake wiring, eliminating the need for a separate brake extension lead. On the drive side, the assembly terminates in wire leads, allowing screw-terminal or push-in connections to compatible Kollmorgen drives. The motor end uses a straight molded connector that mates directly with the corresponding AKM motor connection. The fixed pin assignment is 1=U; 4=V; 3=W; 2=PE; A=BR+; B=BR-. This arrangement maintains the required phase sequence, protective ground connection, and brake polarity when the cable is connected between the drive and motor.
