Product Description:
The PWR-AKM-001M-MCS-000-14-6H is a factory-terminated power cable built by Kollmorgen for the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. The assembly connects a servo drive to an AKM motor, delivering three-phase current and brake control while maintaining the shielding integrity required by automated equipment. Its factory-terminated design eliminates the need to assemble power conductors at the installation site. The cable supports motion axes, conveyors, and material-handling gantries that require a compact connection between the drive and motor. The integrated shielding also helps limit electromagnetic interference around nearby control and feedback wiring.
At just 1 m long, the cable fits between the cabinet and motor without excess slack that could strain cable carriers. Each copper core is sized at 14 AWG, providing current capacity for smaller AKM motor frames while keeping the bundle diameter compact. The jacket has a Flex Rated certification, allowing it to tolerate repeated movement in dynamic cable chains. Mechanical protection requires a minimum bend radius of 12 × O.D., and observing this limit helps prevent conductor fatigue and jacket damage. On the drive side, pre-stripped wire leads allow direct termination to screw, spring, or push-in terminal blocks without a specialized connector shell. This connection method also reduces the space required for cable termination inside compact control cabinets.
The motor end uses a straight keyed connector that routes the cable parallel to the housing, allowing the assembly to clear closely positioned machine guards. Integrated brake conductors share the jacket with the power phases, providing a dedicated electrical path for releasing or setting a holding brake on vertical axes without requiring a second cable. Because the cable is dedicated to power delivery, it excludes signal pairs, which keeps mutual capacitance low and supports electromagnetic compatibility. The keyed connector helps maintain the correct contact orientation when the cable is attached to the motor. Housing the phase and brake wiring within one flexible jacket also keeps the machine-side cable route compact while preserving separate electrical functions.
