Product Description:
The P5-21-015-A5-00-004000 power cable is produced by Kollmorgen for the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It is a dedicated motor supply lead that routes drive output power to AKM or similar servo motors fitted with SpeedTec-style connectors. In machine tools, packaging lines, and material-handling cells, this cable carries phase current and protective earth between the cabinet-mounted amplifier and the moving axis. This provides the electrical path required for closed-loop motion while accommodating movement between stationary control equipment and the driven motor.
Its length of 4 m provides enough reach for typical short-stroke axes while keeping voltage drop minimal. The insulation system is certified for up to 1000 V, so the cable can be used with regenerative drives that have high DC-bus voltages without derating. During continuous flexing, the conductors may bend to a radius no smaller than 63 mm, protecting the PVC jacket and the 1.5 mm² copper cores from cyclic fatigue. When the axis accelerates, the cable may travel at up to 10 m/s and withstand acceleration reaching 5 m/s². An outside diameter of 10.5 mm simplifies routing through drag chains and permits the use of compact gland plates. These properties also help prevent excessive mechanical strain where the cable enters moving carriers or fixed enclosures.
For stationary harness segments, the minimum bend radius is 42 mm, which eases installation inside control enclosures. The PVC formulation and shielding remain stable at temperatures up to 80 °C, maintaining dielectric strength when exposed to cabinet and motor-side heat. With a mass of only 0.168 kg/m, the cable adds little moving weight and reduces the load placed on drag-chain assemblies. Its Mid-Flex rating indicates a service life suitable for drag chains with moderate operating cycles. The SpeedTec C or G connector option provides keyed, quarter-turn locking and does not require field crimping. The cable should be routed with adequate clearance from sharp edges and secured so that movement does not place tension directly on either connector.
