Product Description:
The MK 6SM27/37/47/57/77 is a preterminated servo cable set manufactured by Kollmorgen within the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It carries three-phase power, feedback signals, and brake current between a drive and its motor, allowing motion axes in packaging machines, gantries, and assembly cells to be installed with less wiring time. The assembly integrates power conductors, encoder pairs, resolver leads, and a separate brake circuit inside coordinated jackets, providing an orderly and electrically matched path for the required servo signals in industrial automation.
Separate subcables are assigned to each feedback format. The comcoder section uses a layout of 8 × (2 × 0.25 mm²) twisted-pair elements, providing balanced impedance for differential signals over runs up to 25 m. Encoder conductors follow a 7 × (2 × 0.25 mm²) layout and may be installed over distances of up to 50 m without timing faults. A 17-pin circular connector terminates both the encoder and comcoder lines, simplifying the selection of mating plugs. Resolver leads are arranged as four twisted pairs with 0.25 mm² conductors and remain reliable over runs of up to 100 m. For power, the standard size 1 plug accepts motor phases and a brake feed, eliminating the need for an additional brake harness. Standard terminals accept wire cross sections of up to 4 mm², covering typical applications with currents from 3 to 6 A.
When higher currents or longer runs are needed, Option H substitutes a size 1.5 power connector shell that accommodates conductors with cross sections of up to 10 mm² to reduce voltage drop. This option continues to route the brake feed through the main plug, preserving a single-cable installation and reducing the number of separate connections at the motor. Resolver connectivity uses a 12-pin interface that matches the smaller signal set and provides a shielded connection for position feedback.
