The M.1302.8631 servo feedback cable is manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It links a motor-mounted feedback port to the matching drive, carrying resolver position data and a temperature-sensing channel so the controller can regulate current and protect the motor winding. Within industrial automation systems, the assembly provides a reliable signal path between moving axes and cabinet electronics while tolerating continuous flexing in cable tracks. Its dedicated conductors and shielding support stable feedback transmission while nearby motors and switching devices are operating.
The cable is supplied in a cut length of 6 m, providing adequate reach for medium-span gantry or conveyor installations without unnecessary slack. A Hi-Flex outer jacket supports continuous-motion applications and resists cracking during repeated movement. Internally, four twisted pairs reduce crosstalk among the resolver, temperature, and source conductors. Installation must maintain a minimum bend radius of 10 times the outer diameter to reduce conductor fatigue and prevent excessive stress on the jacket. The drive-side termination uses a 15-pin HD male D-Sub connector. This connector mates directly with the designated F1 or F2 feedback port on Kollmorgen AKD and S200 drives, and captive screws help secure the connection against vibration. The connector arrangement also permits a compact interface at the drive without requiring a separate adapter.
At the motor end, the cable has a 45° connector shell and a straight cable exit, simplifying strain relief when the motor is mounted flush against machinery. The feedback medium is resolver feedback, and its sine-cosine channels are shielded to support low-noise analog transmission. Auxiliary conductors provide +5 V and +9 V source rails at the drive side, eliminating the need for an additional harness. A dedicated temperature input lead shares the sheath, allowing the controller to monitor stator heat and adjust operating limits when necessary. The connector geometry helps route the assembly around nearby machine surfaces without placing excessive lateral force on the motor connection. Shielding around the signal channels also helps reduce interference from adjacent power cables in densely wired equipment.
