Product Description:
Kollmorgen manufactures the M.1302.8614 cable as part of the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. The item is a dedicated motor-feedback lead that links a synchronous servo motor to its drive, carrying encoder information needed for position loops in industrial automation equipment. By maintaining accurate differential signal integrity between the motor transducer and the controller, the cable supports closed-loop speed and position regulation on packaging lines, pick-and-place assemblies, conveyors, and other equipment that requires precise servo control.
The cable is 6 m long to accommodate typical cabinet-to-motor distances while leaving room for strain-relief loops. Its outer jacket is rated for continuous flexing, so it tolerates continuous motion in cable tracks without premature insulation fatigue. Internally, the conductors follow the arrangement 7 × 28 AWG, 1 × 16 AWG, and 1 × 22 AWG. The 28 AWG conductors carry differential encoder data, the 16 AWG conductor supplies sensor power, and the 22 AWG conductor handles auxiliary signals. To prevent conductor damage, the recommended minimum bend radius is 12 × O.D. At the drive end, a 45° backshell eases routing inside shallow panels, and termination is provided through a 15-pin HD male D-Sub connector that locks to the mating receptacle with thumbscrews. The motor side uses a straight molded connector to simplify inline installation and reduce unnecessary cable strain near the motor connection.
For drive compatibility, the assembly is keyed for the F1/F2 feedback ports found on Kollmorgen controllers. Encoder traffic follows the BiSS or EnDat 2.1 serial formats, allowing compatible drives to receive position data through the supported feedback interface. The cable’s impedance and shielding also support high-speed transmission of the analog sinusoidal signals used by a sine-encoder feedback chain. Its shielded conductor arrangement helps reduce interference when the cable operates in constantly flexing tracks or runs near motor power conductors.
