Product Description:
The M.1302.8450 servo feedback cable is produced by Kollmorgen within the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It links a resolver-equipped motor to its drive, carrying position, temperature, and low-voltage supply lines so the controller can close the motion loop without signal loss across moving axes in industrial automation. The cable is supplied in a fixed length of 3 m, which supports standard cabinet-to-machine layouts without introducing excessive signal attenuation. This length also provides a practical routing allowance between the drive cabinet and the motor while avoiding unnecessary cable slack.
At the drive end, the assembly uses a D-Sub 15-pin HD male connector positioned at a 45° angle, providing clearance for adjacent modules when it plugs into the designated F1/F2 feedback port. The angled orientation reduces cable protrusion from the drive face and helps prevent sharp bends near the connector body. Inside the polyurethane jacket, four color-coded twisted pairs provide balanced transmission and assign separate conductors to the COS, SIN, reference, and temperature sensor channels to control crosstalk. During installation in energy chains, the cable must maintain a dynamic loop of 12 times the cable diameter. Observing this minimum bend radius reduces stress on the conductors and helps prevent fatigue during continuous flexing.
The outer sheath has a Flex Grade rating, so the conductor bundle tolerates the tight, repetitive movement associated with high-cycle gantries and other moving machinery. A straight molded motor connector mates with the resolver housing, reducing angular stress where the cable enters the motor connection. Separate supply conductors deliver 9 VDC, +5 VDC, and COM to power the resolver excitation circuit and the embedded temperature-monitoring element. The signal core supports resolver feedback, transmitting analog COS, SIN, REF, and TEMP channels directly to the drive’s conversion stage. The polyurethane sheath provides a durable outer surface for routing through flexible cable-management systems. Proper routing should also prevent twisting, crushing, or contact with sharp edges that could damage the jacket or disturb the low-level feedback signals.
