The M.1302.8302 is a Kollmorgen servo communication cable supplied under the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. In an automation panel, it links a drive’s digital communication outlet to the corresponding inlet on a motor or control card. The cable carries closed-loop feedback and command data during high-speed axis movements while helping protect signal integrity within electrically noisy machinery.
This model has a total length of 15 m, providing ample reach for routing through large multi-axis machines. It contains eight signal conductors for the required communication channels and reserved connections. Each pair uses a twisted-pair configuration that helps cancel electromagnetic interference induced along the cable run. The shielded assembly rejects external electrical noise through a braided screen connected to ground. Individual copper conductors use a fine 28 AWG wire size, balancing routing flexibility with the current capacity required for communication signals. Transmit positive, transmit negative, receive positive, and receive negative channels occupy the active differential pairs, enabling bidirectional data exchange with small voltage differences. Pins 1, 2, 3, and 6 carry the active communication paths, while the other conductors provide inactive lines for reserved functions or spare capacity.
