The M.1302.5993 servo interface cable is supplied by Kollmorgen as part of the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. The assembly links an MMC automation controller to an MMC Smart Drive I/O block, routing low-level control, communication, and 24 V auxiliary power lines between the two devices in a motion system. The preterminated harness simplifies panel wiring and helps maintain signal integrity inside industrial automation cabinets.
At a fixed length of 3.0 m, the cable provides a predictable voltage drop and supports orderly cable management inside standard enclosures. Inside the polyurethane jacket, 26 individual conductors are organized in a twisted-pair layout that suppresses crosstalk on high-speed feedback lines. The drive end terminates in a 26-pin HD male D-Sub connector, while the controller side uses a 15-pin HD male D-Sub connector; the keyed connectors help prevent incorrect connections during installation. The hardwired mapping carries the 24 V supply from controller pin 11 to drive pin 10, while the bidirectional COM channel runs from controller pin 12 to drive pin 16. Additional jumpers route the DC-in negative line between controller pins 7 and 12 and the DC-OSS reference from controller pin 15 to pin 11, eliminating the need for external splice blocks.
The internal wiring is divided into nine paired signal groups so differential lines and discrete references remain isolated. Power-critical conductors connected to pins 10 and 16 use stranded copper with a size of 20 AWG to carry the higher 24 V auxiliary current. The remaining logic lines use 28 AWG conductors, which reduce the overall bundle diameter while accommodating low-level signals. A continuous aluminum braid and foil assembly makes the cable shielded against electromagnetic interference from servo drives and nearby power feeders. This shielding supports low-noise communication and power return throughout the cable without requiring external ferrites or conduit.
