Product Description:
The M.1302.5992 feedback cable is a preterminated wiring harness produced by Kollmorgen for motion systems that use the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It serves as the electrical link between an MMC motion controller and its corresponding drive, carrying position commands, enable lines, and reference commons required for closed-loop automation. Matched-impedance conductors inside a compact jacket simplify cabinet wiring while preserving signal integrity across a short axis span.
At a length of 1.5 m, the assembly suits interconnections inside multi-axis cabinets without leaving excess slack. Its internal layout uses a shielded twisted-pair construction, so each signal pair maintains low crosstalk while the overall foil and braid limit radiated noise. The cable contains 26 individual copper cores organized as 9 pairs, along with isolated power and common leads. A factory-installed D-sub 15-pin HD male plug mates with the controller, while a matching D-sub 26-pin HD male plug connects to the drive. The shells of both connectors are tied to the cable shield, creating a continuous ground path that helps meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements. Command lines 14 and 15 are routed to drive pins 8 and 9. The supply and common lines follow the connection map from pins 10 and 16 to pins 11 and 12.
The controller end is keyed for the MMC Controller Axis I/O port, enabling tool-free installation without individual pin terminations. Standard conductors measure 28 AWG, which suits the low-current logic carried on most pairs. The conductors connected to pins 10 and 16 use the larger 20 AWG size to reduce voltage drop on the shared 5 V rail. All conductors are made of tinned copper to maintain stable resistance over time, and their color sequence aligns with Kollmorgen documentation for efficient continuity checks. The shield terminates at the nickel-plated connector shells, so a separate drain wire is not needed when the cable is bonded to chassis ground.
