Product Description:
The M.1302.5991 servo interface cable is manufactured by Kollmorgen and belongs to the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. The assembly provides a dedicated connection between a motion controller and its companion servo drive, carrying analog command, feedback, and ground lines in industrial automation systems. Factory-terminated connectors and matched shielding simplify panel wiring, preserve signal fidelity over short distances, and reduce setup time. By placing all required conductors within one jacket, the cable also eliminates the need for loose, field-assembled leads and helps keep control enclosures organized.
At the controller end, the cable terminates in a 15-pin high-density male D-sub plug, while the drive side features a 26-pin high-density male D-sub connector. These high-density shells provide secure latching and occupy minimal panel space. Signal capacity is provided by a 26-conductor core, allowing separate routing of analog commands, digital enable signals, and reference grounds to limit crosstalk. Each signal lead uses 28 AWG stranded copper, balancing flexibility with acceptable voltage drop for low-level signals. A layer of braid-and-foil shielding surrounds the conductor bundle to attenuate electromagnetic interference generated near switching power devices. This shielding also helps protect sensitive feedback and command signals when the cable is routed alongside other control wiring inside an enclosure.
The cable has an overall length of 1 m (3.3 ft), making it suitable for connections within a panel or between closely spaced frames where excess slack is undesirable. Internal routing uses a twisted-pair layout, which gives differential analog signals a small loop area and reduces capacitively coupled noise. Two heavier 20 AWG conductors connect to pins 10 and 16, providing dedicated low-impedance paths for reference grounding or auxiliary power. For analog control loops, the negative command path is wired from pin 15 (CMD−) to pin 9 (DA−). This fixed connection prevents cross-pinning during installation and maintains a consistent signal path across multiple motion axes. The short cable length, paired conductors, and secure D-sub connections support orderly routing without requiring additional terminal blocks or individually installed signal leads.
