Internal Product Review
The M.1015.7975 is a Kollmorgen encoder feedback cable built for stable servo signal transmission, with twisted-pair construction and tinned copper conductors. A 360° backshell shield with 85% minimum shield coverage supports clean feedback integrity in electrically noisy panels. The J2 drive interface and pigtail termination make the cable a practical, high-confidence choice for precise servo integration.

Product Description:
The M.1015.7975 is an encoder feedback cable produced by Kollmorgen for the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. In a servo loop, it links the motor-mounted encoder to the drive and transfers differential position signals with low noise so motion controllers can maintain tight positional accuracy in automated machinery. The cable supports feedback communication in applications that require consistent speed and position regulation. The assembly is delivered as a fully finished harness, allowing direct installation without assembling the primary cable components.
This cable is supplied in a fixed length of 3 m (10 ft), providing enough reach for typical motor-to-cabinet runs while keeping capacitance low. Its outside diameter measures 0.33 in, so it can be routed through standard drag chains and conduit. The signal conductors are made of tinned copper, which resists corrosion and provides dependable electrical conductivity. A braided screen with at least 85% coverage attenuates electromagnetic interference, and the braid terminates at the backshell to provide a continuous ground path. A thermoplastic elastomer jacket covers the shield, remains flexible in moving-axis applications, and withstands exposure to many industrial coolants.
On the drive side, the molded plug connects to the Kollmorgen feedback port labeled J2. The plug has 20 pins, matching the resolver or SFD encoder interface without requiring an adapter board. The backshell provides a full 360° shield bond, while the molded strain relief is rated for 105 °C (221 °F) to tolerate elevated enclosure temperatures. Twisted-pair construction maintains impedance balance, and the individual wires have polyvinyl chloride insulation. A black PVC overmold protects the contact area from mechanical stress and incidental contact with contaminants. The M2.5 × 0.45 screw thread secures the connector to the mating bulkhead and helps prevent accidental disconnection during machine vibration. The motor end is configured as a pigtail with stripped ends, simplifying termination inside a junction box or directly at incremental encoder terminals.
