The M.1015.7940 is a flexible servo power cable manufactured by Kollmorgen within the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It is supplied as a factory-terminated assembly intended to connect the drive amplifier to the stator terminals of compatible servo motors in automated machinery. By combining signal integrity with environmental durability, the cable transmits continuous current and protective earth while protecting encoder feedback channels from electromagnetic interference. This design supports precise motion tasks on packaging lines, gantries, and material-handling axes where power delivery and signal stability are essential.
With a reach of 100 ft (30 m), the cable allows remote panel mounting without intermediate junctions. Its conductors are sized at 1.5 mm² (16 AWG), so the copper cross-section supports typical phase currents for mid-frame motors while limiting voltage drop. The strands are formed from tinned copper, which resists oxidation and eases solder wicking during connector repair. A braided screen provides a minimum of 85% coverage, reducing radiated noise near sensitive encoder pairs. During installation, the 2.0 in (50.80 mm) minimum bend radius must be maintained because tighter loops can fatigue the elastomeric jacket and weaken the shielding. The outer sheath is molded from thermoplastic elastomer to withstand exposure to oil and repeated flexing in cable tracks.
At each end, the plug overmold consists of black PVC, a compound that grips the strain-relief barbs and seals the pin cavities. This molding is rated for continuous service at 105 °C (221 °F), enabling placement near warm servo housings without risking softening or creep. The assembly is tailored for 200/300 HSM Series motors, preventing pinout confusion when wiring mixed motor families. Internal leads have polyvinyl chloride insulation that isolates the phase conductors from the braided screen and provides consistent dielectric strength across the cable length. The thermoplastic elastomer jacket also provides hydrolysis resistance for washdown conveyor zones where moisture and cleaning agents may contact the cable surface.
