Product Description:
The M.1015.6943 feedback lead is produced by Kollmorgen for the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It serves as an encoder feedback line between a servomotor and its drive, carrying differential position signals while minimizing electrical noise. The cable uses a molded and potted design that seals the overmold around both connectors and protects the internal terminations from contaminants. Its straight configuration supports orderly routing through cable chains and along machine frames without requiring intermediate adapters.
The assembly has a length of 15 m (50 ft), allowing the controller enclosure to be positioned away from moving machinery without excessive signal loss. Its conductors are made from stranded tinned copper, which resists oxidation and supports stable contact resistance throughout repeated operating cycles. A flexible outer sheath made from thermoplastic elastomer withstands continuous bending while maintaining high dielectric strength. Beneath the sheath, the braid provides a minimum shield coverage of 85% to block electromagnetic interference that could disrupt incremental feedback channels. Each connector body is overmolded with a compound rated for 105 °C (221 °F), allowing the sealed terminations to tolerate elevated temperatures inside control cabinets or near servomotors.
At the drive end, a Mini D-shell connector uses 20 pins to connect with compatible Kollmorgen servo amplifiers. The motor end carries a YSM encoder plug with 28 pins for incremental feedback and commutation channels. The cable provides 360° shielding at both ends, bonding the braid to each backshell and maintaining the enclosure ground around the full circumference of both connectors. Inside the cable, twisted pairs use polyvinyl chloride insulation to control crosstalk between sensitive signal paths. The wire arrangement is intended exclusively for encoder feedback and does not carry motor power, keeping low-level position signals separate from high-current conductors in the motion system.
