The M.1015.6942 cable is manufactured by Kollmorgen for the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It is a dedicated encoder feedback assembly that connects a YSM series servo motor to a compatible feedback port on a Kollmorgen drive. The assembly carries incremental or absolute position signals, allowing the controller to close the motion loop with minimal latency in automated machinery. This connection supports accurate position monitoring during speed regulation, indexing, and other coordinated motion tasks.
The assembly is supplied with connectors on both ends, so installation does not require field termination. Its overall reach is 25 ft (7.6 m), providing adequate routing distance inside typical control cabinets and machine frames. Classified as an encoder feedback cable, the assembly uses twisted conductor pairs to balance impedance and suppress common-mode noise from inverters and motor windings. Each plug has a molded and potted body that locks the conductors in place and adds strain relief. A 360° backshell on each end bonds the braid to the shell, maintaining continuous shielding through both connector interfaces. The cable jacket encloses 16 AWG power conductors and 20 AWG signal pairs, allowing the feedback lines to maintain low resistance without unnecessarily increasing the overall diameter.
On the drive side, the assembly mates with the J2 feedback header and provides 20 pins in the correct order for Kollmorgen digital encoder modules. The motor end uses a 28-position CPC housing that fits the YSM resolver enclosure and maintains a secure connection during machine operation. Metri-Pack socket contacts are held in a size 17 shell, providing an organized interface for the individual feedback channels. The thumbscrews that secure the plug use an M2.5 × 0.45 thread to resist accidental loosening under vibration. Wire identification follows Kollmorgen color codes, and the conductor grouping makes individual channels easier to trace when diagnostic work is required. The shielding, contact arrangement, and organized internal wiring help limit crosstalk between feedback channels while preserving signal integrity along the full cable length.
