In automated machinery, the cable carries three-phase motor current and protective earth, providing a ready-made interface that matches the electrical and mechanical conventions of the drive and motor families.
The assembly is supplied in a length of 50 ft, which supports installations where the drive cabinet is some distance from the axis it controls. Kollmorgen classifies the assembly as a motor power cable, so the conductors are sized for continuous motor current rather than low-level feedback signals. The cable is intended for a connection from a drive to an NSM series motor, confirming that its pinout and insulation ratings align with that motor platform.
