The Kollmorgen F5-12-FB4-A3-00-002000 is a mid-flex feedback cable from the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series, designed for AKM motors. It is 2 meters in length with a 16-conductor count, 15-pin D-Sub drive connector, and M23 SpeedTec 17-pin motor connector. The cable features a PVC jacket, an outer diameter of 10.5 mm, and supports EnDat 2.1 and BiSS B feedback protocols.
Internal Product Review
The Kollmorgen F5-12-FB4-A3-00-002000 is a servo feedback cable for AKM motors with support for EnDat 2.1 and BiSS B feedback protocols. A 15-pin D-Sub drive connector at 45° pairs well with the M23 SpeedTec 17-pin motor connector for clean installation and secure interfacing. Mid-Flex construction and a PVC jacket make the assembly a dependable choice for motion applications.

Product Description:
The F5-12-FB4-A3-00-002000 is a servo feedback cable produced by Kollmorgen for the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It links a motor-mounted encoder to a matching drive, allowing real-time position data to reach the controller so that closed-loop motion remains precise on automated axes. The assembly’s molded backshells and strain-relieved terminations support quick routing inside machine tools, material-handling cells, and other equipment where electrical noise isolation between power and feedback channels is required.
This cable is supplied in a fixed length of 2 m, giving enough reach for most cabinet-to-motor runs without leaving coils of excess wire. Inside the jacket are 16 conductors arranged for differential signaling and sensor supply lines. On the motor side, an M23 SpeedTec 17-pin connector snaps into the AKM encoder housing. The drive end carries a right-angle 15-pin D-Sub plug with a 45° cable exit that clears adjacent terminals in crowded racks. The wiring supports the digital protocols EnDat 2.1 and BiSS B, allowing compatible controllers to read absolute position data without additional adapter modules and enabling high-resolution axis interpolation during coordinated moves.
The cable uses a Mid-Flex construction that tolerates continuous movement while avoiding the additional bulk of a full drag-chain design. A PVC jacket surrounds the cores, providing oil resistance and simplifying wipe-down maintenance. Mechanical limits include a static bend radius of 42 mm for fixed runs and a dynamic bend radius of 63 mm when the cable is routed through energy guides. The cable has an outer diameter of 10.5 mm, which limits the routing space required inside conduits and cable carriers. Its mass is 0.141 kg per meter, helping reduce the moving load on supported cable runs. The design omits a brake pair because applications using a motor holding brake require separate brake wiring. The cable is electrically compatible with AKM series servomotors and connects their feedback devices directly to supported drives.
