Kollmorgen supplies the DE-92205 as part of the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. This preassembled cable connects a Kollmorgen servo amplifier to a compatible motor in an industrial automation cell. It carries phase current and transmits feedback signals, allowing the motion controller to regulate motor speed and position accurately during operation.
The cable has a fixed length of 25 m, allowing installation between distributed control panels and actuators without intermediate junctions. At the amplifier end, it terminates in a 15-pole socket, while the motor end is equipped with a 17-pole M23 plug. These keyed interfaces are compatible with Kollmorgen AKD drives and standard motor receptacles. Seven balanced signal pairs and the associated conductors are arranged in a 7 × (2 × 0.25 mm²) layout, and each copper core has a cross-sectional area of 0.25 mm². The signal conductors are arranged as twisted pairs to minimize crosstalk and preserve feedback timing. Fourteen insulated conductors are enclosed within a jacket measuring 9 mm in outer diameter. A surrounding tinned copper braid provides at least 85% optical coverage to help control electromagnetic interference.
During operation, the cable supports repeated movement with a dynamic bend radius of 10 × D. Stationary routing permits a minimum bend radius of 6 × D without placing excessive mechanical strain on the conductors, making the cable suitable for both cable chains and fixed runs. Electrical behavior remains consistent because core-to-core capacitance is limited to 90 pF/m, while core-to-shield capacitance is limited to 120 pF/m. These capacitance values help preserve differential signal edges across the full cable length. The tinned copper braid works with the controlled capacitance to reduce radiated and conducted electromagnetic emissions. The insulation supports continuous operation at 300 V, providing the dielectric capacity required for the cable’s power and signal circuits.
