Product Description:
The DE-91019 feedback cable is supplied by Kollmorgen within the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It serves as the dedicated transmission line between a servo drive and its motor encoder, delivering position data and auxiliary monitoring signals required for precise motion control in industrial automation. By combining shielded conductors and matched-impedance pairs, the product maintains signal integrity over its stated length while resisting the mechanical stress common in modern machine tools and packaging equipment.
Dynamic installations benefit from the cable’s minimum bend radius of 80 mm, allowing routing through tight energy chains without violating manufacturer limits. Mechanical durability is demonstrated by a rated service life of 1 million cycles under continuous flexing. System layout is simplified by a factory-cut length of 10 m, eliminating the need for on-site termination. An overall outer diameter of 9.9 mm fits standard chain separators, and the abrasion-resistant sheath is made from PUR to withstand oils and coolants. The internal arrangement uses seven twisted signal pairs with tinned copper drain wires. The cable is suitable for trailing applications on high-speed gantry axes, and a 360-degree shield bond through the connector housing suppresses electromagnetic interference.
The cable carries encoder signals for EnDat, BiSS, and HIPERFACE, allowing one part number to support several drive generations. At the drive end, a keyed 15-pole female D-Sub connector mates directly with Kollmorgen AKD controllers, while the motor end terminates in an industry-standard 17-pole M23 plug for a secure connection. Each twisted pair is individually insulated with PETP, limiting dielectric losses at high carrier frequencies. An integrated thermal protection conductor routes overtemperature signals back to the drive. The overall shield is bonded to the connector shell for ground-referenced noise suppression. This shield arrangement also provides a continuous path around the signal conductors throughout normal energy-chain movement.
