Product Description:
The DE-90287 cable is manufactured by Kollmorgen for the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. This preterminated assembly links an AKD drive to its matched servomotor, carrying high-speed encoder feedback and auxiliary signals required for closed-loop motion. By combining multiple conductors within one flexible sheath, the product reduces wiring time inside industrial machinery and maintains signal integrity along moving axes in packaging, handling, and machining equipment. The completed assembly also eliminates the need to terminate individual feedback conductors during installation.
The internal wiring follows a 7 x (2 x 0.25 mm²) conductor arrangement, which consists of seven individually insulated pairs. Each wire in these pairs has a cross-sectional area of 0.25 mm². The conductors are arranged as twisted pairs to minimize crosstalk between encoder channels and keep differential signaling stable. On the drive side, the assembly terminates in a female D-sub connector with 15 contacts, providing dedicated paths for feedback, temperature, and auxiliary signals. At the motor end, a circular connector carries 17 pins, providing the connections required by the compatible motor feedback system. An abrasion-resistant outer jacket protects the internal wiring during routing and movement. The shield is clamped directly to the connector housing, creating a low-impedance path for electromagnetic noise.
The cable has a factory-cut length of 5 m, providing enough reach for typical cabinet-to-axis installations without excessive unused cable. Within this length are 14 discrete conductors that carry encoder data, sensor supply, and temperature-monitoring signals. The cable supports EnDat, BiSS, and HIPERFACE interfaces, allowing it to connect compatible absolute encoders that communicate over high-speed serial links. Its braid-and-foil construction is shielded, providing attenuation for operation near switching inverters and other sources of electromagnetic interference. The flexible sheath supports routing through industrial machinery where repeated movement may occur. Integrated temperature-signal conductors allow motor thermal data to return to the drive without requiring a separate feedback cable.
