Product Description:
Kollmorgen manufactures the CFE0A1-002-012-00 feedback cable for its Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. This encoder cable links digital position sensors on AKM motors to matching amplifiers, delivering differential signals required for accurate motion control inside industrial automation cells. By providing factory-terminated plugs and electromagnetic shielding, the assembly reduces wiring errors and preserves encoder accuracy in conveyor drives, robots, and packaging equipment.
The working reach of the cable is 12 m, a prefabricated length that fits most cabinet-to-motor runs without excess slack. At the amplifier end, a female Sub-D connector connects directly to the controller’s AKD X10 encoder port. The motor end uses the AKM&C/CH Connector 1.0 interface, allowing quick detachment during service. The conductors support the EnDat/BiSS protocol, so high-resolution absolute position data can be exchanged at high clock rates without additional converters. Seventeen dedicated pins in the motor plug separate supply conductors, differential signal pairs, and auxiliary lines to support accurate pin mapping. This arrangement keeps the feedback channels isolated from supporting electrical connections within the same terminated assembly.
Internally, the cable is built from 7 × (2 × 0.25 mm²) cores arranged as twisted pairs, a geometry that reduces electromagnetic crosstalk on sensitive differential channels. Each pair and the overall bundle are wrapped in foil and braid, then jacketed as a shielded and sheathed assembly that withstands industrial noise and moderate mechanical stress. The shield is bonded to the connector housing to provide a low-impedance termination path for induced electrical noise. Supported cable configurations permit a maximum application length of 50 m while maintaining reliable feedback transmission. The protective jacket also keeps the internal pair geometry stable as the cable is routed between the motor and control cabinet.
