Product Description:
The CF-SS-CHGE-06 is a feedback cable manufactured by Kollmorgen for the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series. It links an AKD-class drive to a servo motor, carrying incremental encoder and Hall signals that the drive uses for commutation, position tracking, and stable closed-loop motion in automated machinery. This arrangement lets the drive monitor rotor position continuously without relying on a separate encoder harness. Power-sense, thermistor, and digital feedback conductors are integrated within one shielded jacket, which helps reduce separate cable runs and keeps routing more orderly inside factory equipment.
Its overall reach is 6 m, making it suitable for installations where the drive cabinet is mounted several meters from the motor while signal quality still needs to be maintained. Built as a Commutating Encoder Feedback Cable, it carries Aquad-B quadrature channels and Hall signals in the same assembly instead of requiring separate feedback leads. The drive end uses a molded backshell with a Euro IP65 rating and connects through a 15-Pin Sub-D plug at port X1. The cable has fifteen conductors, matching the incremental encoder with Hall layout and supporting incremental tracks, supply and sense lines, Hall outputs, thermistor leads, and an index pulse. Quadrature edges are delivered at 5 V TTL, so the drive receiver can process them at the required switching rate without timing errors.
Motor-side termination uses a keyed Round 17-Pin bayonet connector that bonds the shield to the motor housing for EMC compliance and secure attachment during machine movement. The cable supports reliable data transfer up to 350 kHz, and the encoder supply can source 250 mA to the connected sensor set. Signals use the AquadB 5V With Hall format and operate from 5 VDC ±5%, while remote-sense pairs help correct voltage drop along the cable during operation. Keeping feedback, sensing, and thermistor circuits in one assembly also helps preserve a consistent connection path between the drive and the motor.
