It is a hybrid servo cable that carries both power and Ethernet-based feedback between an AKD-N drive’s X2 port and the upstream AKD-N drive’s X1 port. Within an automation cell, this dedicated link supplies DC bus energy, protective earth, and full-duplex communication, so the downstream drive can synchronize motion without separate signal wiring.
The cable is described as a Hybrid String Cable, which means three power cores and four data pairs are combined in one sheath. Power delivery is handled by copper conductors sized at 3 x 2.5 mm², while encoder and control traffic uses twisted signal conductors sized at 4 x 0.25 mm². To reduce mechanical fatigue during axis movement, the minimum permitted bend radius is 125 mm, and the jacket is rated for continuous acceleration up to 2.5 G. When installed in a cable track, the assembly can follow moving carriages at speeds as high as 300 m/min without exceeding internal strain limits. The contact arrangement n.c./-DC_ST/+DC_ST/PE on the A/B/C/PE side separates the negative and positive DC bus lines from protective earth. Ethernet conductors are mapped as RX-/TX-/RX+/TX+ on X1 and cross-wired to TX-/RX-/TX+/RX+ on X2 so that the drives can establish an internal switchless link.
The cable is rated for runs up to 25 m; beyond that distance, voltage drop or signal attenuation may require heavier conductors or active repeaters. Its braid and foil shields are bonded to the drive chassis through the connector housings, which provide a low-impedance path for high-frequency noise.
