Product Description:
The 6SM 27-G belongs to the Kollmorgen Servo Cables series produced by Kollmorgen. This cable assembly carries three-phase power, brake supply, and resolver feedback between a drive controller and its matched motor, forming a critical link in closed-loop industrial automation systems. By combining power conductors, a brake pair, and resolver leads inside one shielded jacket, it simplifies installation while maintaining signal integrity and sealing on the factory floor.
The cable handles supply voltages up to 400/460 V, matching typical control-cabinet supplies for synchronous servo applications. At the motor end, the angled 4 + 4-pole power connector is rated for a radial side pull of 90 N and an axial straight pull of 30 N, protecting the conductors and terminations from strain during machine motion. Its molded backshell carries an IP65 ingress protection rating, preventing dust and low-pressure water jets from entering the interface. Mechanical attachment follows the IM B5 (V1, V3) mounting style, allowing the flange to fit vertical or horizontal frames without stressing the cable exit. Inside the jacket, a pair of conductors supplies the permanent-magnet brake. The resolver leads terminate at a 12-pole round plug that connects directly to compatible Kollmorgen motor feedback ports.
A static coupling resistance of 0.02 Nm allows the connectors to seat firmly without excessive tightening, while the brake circuit operates at 24 VDC to release the motor’s permanent-magnet brake during motion. The cable supports a motor with 6 magnetic poles, and the insulation system withstands flange temperatures up to 65 °C during continuous operation. An IP64-rated shaft bushing provides additional protection by blocking coolant spray at the housing entry. The resolver channel carries two poles of excitation for rotor position feedback. An embedded thermal contact opens at 145 ± 5 °C to report an overheating condition to the drive controller.
