The B-404-C-21-B3-034 is part of the B product family of Kollmorgen GOLDLINE servomotors. Like others in this series, it comprises the highest energy rare earth neodymium-iron-boron magnets that enable it to achieve high torque. The excellent thermal design improves the continuous and peak torque enabling the motor to provide high performance in a compact design. The servomotor is lightweight and comes in a brushless design eliminating the need for constant maintenance. The B-404-C-21-B3-034 has a low inertia construction which allows high performance in applications requiring high acceleration and deceleration. This type comes with rugged resolver feedback, has a sealing with IP 65 protection class, and a class H insulation. This allows optimal performance in applications that cause it to generate heat.

To allow swift installation of the servo system Kollmorgen provides the MOTIONLINK software that is ideal for both the advanced user and a novice. It allows the user to quickly set-up the system as well as fine-tune its performance. Some of the features that allow for seamless tuning include a monitor mode, selectable tuning algorithms, and a PC oscilloscope. The B-404-C-21-B3-034 allows you to improve its performance thanks to the front-mounted gearheads, fail-safe brake, mating connectors, and Encoder feedback options. The motor has a weight of 12.5kg, a maximum speed of 5000RPM, a continuous and peak torque at stall of 9.7lb-ft, and 17.8lb-ft respectively.

The SERVOSTAR amplifier used together with the B-404-C-21-B3-034 is characterized by a long term speed regulation, 12-bit input resolutions, motor current ripple frequency of 32kHz to 16kHz, and a 2kHz velocity loop update rate. It comes with seven LED display, a log for errors, and internal variable monitoring.
